Heyho,
my band and me were in the studio last month and I recorded my whole track with an MP-1 Classic.
It is still unofficial, but I got you an Dropbox Link, because I just can't wait to publish it and just wanted to let you guys know.

I'm playing the "Lead"-Guitar, panned to the left channel. Im not a great player, I just have fun O0

Nothing wrong with just having fun, at least you're playing in key! Some people can play like nobody business but they can't stay in key.
The sound (especially the singer) sounds very familiar, I can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of something...

It kind of reminds me of the mid 80's British bands like Brian Ferry/Roxy Music meets The Cure, meets Iggy Pop.

Hmm...
I wasn't going to say this initially, but the singer reminds me of a really gritty Jim Morrison. The reason I wasn't going to say that was because I feel like I can describe it better!
I'm sure I've heard something similar before...
Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually... :crazy:

You know, it seems a lot of players think ADA gear are only good for "hair metal" and "shred" styles of music. I disagree, and I really love it when I hear ADA stuff being used for other styles. Don't get me wrong, I like the Hair and Shred but it's almost....dare I say "boring" to me now. I listen to and enjoy so much more now than I ever did when I was younger, so why not continue to expand?
Sorry if I missed it....what's the name of your band?

I had some ideas for the mix (for what they're worth LoL :wave: ).
Some mild compression on the Vox (keep him a bit more constant in the mix) maybe a soft 2:1 ratio and threshold set to nip back his louder bits (which become a bit dominant at the expense of the band mix), do you have any FX on him? (a little more wouldn't hurt, delay/reverb ?)
A bit more sparkle on the guitar (maybe presence (6khz ish). and a hint less low mids (open up the sound a bit). Also the L/R stereo guitar is filling into the centre of the mix, maybe delay one side 20 or 30 ms ? or less 5 or 10ms, worth a try.
And maybe a nice airy overall reverb (with slight emphasis on the kit) to bring it all together.

We won a gift-coupon at a local contest for a local studio. So we recorded it with nearly minimal time-wise effort. The Mixing and Mastering was also done by the studio, but I think, there ar not really much FX on the whole Mix, despite the ones used directly from us.
I will take this as advise for upcoming recordings, thanks R :thumb-up:
I even tried out some "Metalcore" with the MP-1 Classic. :amaze: Definetely not built for this genre, but still Way Better than some Oranges I was allowed to play ::)

Well I was thinking that too, I hear some 80's new wave in your music. And I find it very original and Kim mentioned it doesn't have to be metal all the time :lol: Well done :thumb-up:

Treat the A/DA amplifications system like you would treat any other amplifier, since that is really what it is. It's just a very versatile amplifier that can sound like anything you want it to. That's the way I've always looked at any of my rigs.
