Winery dogs, really good band. Billy Sheehan is really good to create new project. At the time MrBig, later Niacin...Now,  winery dogs. He reproduce what he did before with Talas(power trio), but WD sounds less late 70's.
Really good project !

Hey Tomy,

  Actually, their music is the music of the 70's, but with modern sounds of today. All three of them admit they are just playing in the styles of the music they grew up with. They play a variety of cover tunes in their shows, and these are some old songs, but they seem to make them sound fresh. "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" (Elvin Bishop) is never a song I would have considered covering, but they do it really well.

For Sevendust check out "Black", "Denial" and "Praise". I would say that's the top 3 by them.

@mjmp

been listening to High Power a lot since I got the albums.  Personally like both equally. I like where the second album went.  Some stunning guitar on both if you ask me discovering them pretty much around the same time I guess has allowed me to love them equally as opposed to having waited for a few years for the 2nd album release and then saying "shit this isn't as good as the first..........f*ck this" as can happen with music somtimes.

Sad the singer and drummer are dead R.I.P. because they were very f**king talented.

The song "Comme un Damme" is a blatant rip off of "Beyond the Realms of Death" by you know who.  However it is so well done and has enough of their own influence in it that I can't help but think by itself it is fantastic.  The break downs are similar, the lead work is at times very similar, and the main riff is almost like a bastard child of Beyond the Realms.  Again I'm taking nothing away from High Power because I love their song as much as I love Judas Priest's.  An Irish drummer of Priest's in the late 70's is responsible for the main riff in BTROD, which is pretty cool.

"Beyond the Realms of Death" don't think i know that song  ::)   ;D

Yeah now you say it,it has some pieces of it,but it's not a straight rip off.
