Just hung out with Michael Wagner at a podcast convention. Super nice guy and we talked about Mp1's for a while. He still has his but says he uses Kemper exclusively now.

Yeah, I called out that crazy old man for his use of the Kemper on Faceb**k, saying the the MP1 was just SITTING there!  He gives me the whole "It's (profiled) in the Kemper" but it's not the same!

Why go to a studio for a professional tracking and mixing session when the producer's going to cheat and use modelling!?

I'm sorry, you guys, I'm just a little jaded because I spent 10 years using modelling to the ridicule of my peers, switched to tube 3 years ago only to get ridiculed for not using modelling!

Don't worry, Chip...it happens. I get crap for showing up with my rack, I get crap for showing up with my ADA combo...whatever, I give as much crap as I get, so there's that.

Wow, I just noticed this post. I heard he finally out the legendary MP-1 up on eBay a while back. I guess it didn't sell?

The head version is silly looking, the rack mount version looks pretty good. I heard a guy in a Country band using one and his Plexi sound was pretty impressive. Cleans were meh, clean as anything else I guess.  :dunno: But that thing did sound very good to my ears. I thought it had tubes.
