Repair Butterfly Catch

Hey RG, depends how they are attached, on my SKB they are riveted so you need to drill out the old rivets and use a rivet gun/tool to install a new one.  If you want a good clean job done, I'd take it to someone who makes road cases as they'll have all the right tools etc.  Best if you can repair the current one or source the same latch or there will no doubt be issues with how it fits (or doesn't  ), there are many variations...

This is my case here.  It's rivets from what I understand.  They wont match up with the old holes from what I can see.  A rivet gun?  Jeez didn't even know what that was until you mentioned it and I checked on line for it!

This might be a bit more hassle than I anticipated

Which is why I suggested someone who builds rack cases  :dunno: , at least worth asking the question (how much to fix ?), hopefully it's cheaper than buying a new rack, another option, not my favourite choice but depends on the economics...

Just a thought...

Hahaha  :thumb-up:
