Hey Gregg, hopefully MJMP will chime in here as I don't know the answer :-(.  I do remember a number of posts about the compressor issue where it would settle after warming up.  IIRC the unit wouldn't work until about 15 to 20 mins although I'm not sure if it's the same as what you are fixing.  A work around (for that issue) was to ensure you switched the unit off with the active patch (restored on boot) having the compressor switched on in it.  Moreover, this was one issue MJMP was never able to fix (back then anyway).  He changed all the associated parts and still couldn't sort it completely.

One of Q200 or Q202 or both has/have gone bad in the compression section. They work when warmed up and fail when hit with freeze spray.

These transistors switch the compression in/out. What is the preferred substitute for the 3SK364 in this section of the MP-2?  I have seen recommendations for J112, J113, PN4393, and PN4394.

I am particular about my parts. Don’t want to source from eBay or AliExpress as counterfeits abound.  Don’t want to risk damage to the MP-2 due to a counterfeit or malfunctioning part.

Max: Back in the day, before the internet.....there was a scam to get people to buy lakefront property where there were no lakes. That's the joke, he's offering to sell you lakefront property where there are no lakes....I wouldn't do it if I were you  ;)

Uhm....that reminds me of Totò and Peppino selling monuments in Rome to tourists...
Maybe I can give Harley a call and trade my MP-1 for the property...
Then I'll build a lake, sell the property for more and buy my MP-1 back!  :waving-banana-smiley-emoticon

So my new Peterson Strobo Clip tuner arrived  :whoohoo!: .  This new version is rechargeable as the previous version (which I already have) uses CR2032 button batteries which are now banned in Australia because very young kids keep eating them  :nono:  .  While being rechargeable gets around this issue, for a gig I'd prefer to have a spare battery on hand if the tuner went flat (no pun intended) than have to find a USB phone charger and wait for it to charge up.  They have also added some features like various selectable screen colours and possibly future firmware updates.  Not sure how I feel about connecting my tuner to the internet....  So it seems you can still use button batteries but they have to be secured/kid proof.  The music shop had to send 100 Taylor acoustics to New Zealand because they had CR2032s in them which are now illegal here.

I have a single ADA slant split stack I wired stereo ages ago and it gets quite flangey (albeit convenient).  I was thinking about how to put a separator in it, but as it's a sealed cab you have to go in through the speaker opening, tricky...  When I used to use this 2 x 12, it wasn't so bad as it has 2 quite large openings in the back, so not quite open back, more semi open.  When I selected the speakers I was in a quandary whether to get the 75w or 100w.  The 100w (which I went with) are 3kgs overall heavier as they have larger magnets.  And I wanted to keep the cab a light as possible.  In the end the 100w maps better to the amps I'll run it with (B200s, DCM200L and TS100).

P.S. I still have my TEAC 80-8, although it needs a little work on track 5. Not to mention a pile of tapes and cassette tapes that I've recorded on with various  musicians
Nice unit  :thumb-up:

Cool! Can't wait for pix

I hated running stereo in a cab without a wall - not so stereo really. It was definitely better with the wall, but whoo-boy, it was heavy. I used a Carvin 4x12, the one with the wavy logo. One heavy MF'er

Whoo Hoo! I'm not the oldest either, a mere 58 trips around the sun

I still have a cassette deck in my Jeep (it's a 2001...pretty late for a tape deck). Just put a tape in there today, one of my all time faves....the Plimsouls - Everywhere at Once. I played that tape so much in my Fiat convertible, I'm surprised it still works.

We're playing an 80s party this weekend and Million Miles Away is on the list, that's on the tape, that's where it all started. Helluva guitar part in that song btw, not a shredding song, but damn busy (hope you like the Ricko Sound of the Rickenbacker), music starts at 0:45

Here's the URL if the YouTube vid doesn't work
