Dante,
Okay, I had to dig out one of my MT 100s to find out. That yellow wire isn't connected to anything. It should be folded back, and zip tied to the bundle of red wires. That's what I see in mine.
Yes, those two things under that clamp are the power transistors I believe. They have a mylar sheet under the back of the head. Be sure that is in place when you install the new ones.
They are: IRF9530 and IRF530 going from left to right

Hey Shibiwan, wow, that's 3 very very nice looking guitars. I agree the maple top is just gorgeous. IIRC 1989 was around when the best Charvels were made? My Anderson is 2 years earlier, 1987 vintage Nice guitars. Would they be considered vintage by now? Apparently the best Charvels were the Japanese ones with the Fort Worth, TX neck plate. That was when Charvel/Jackson moved manufacturing to Japan and had their American craftsmen training the Japanese guys in the factory. They probably peaked around 1990-1993, a little after they introduced the recessed trems (~88) and the dinky bodystyle. I feel like it's been downhill ever since, and even more so after Fender bought them up. |

@Harley
I will start another thread after this...check out the pix below. One question, where does that yellow wire belong? It's not connected to anything and it looks like it was pulled off something, but I don't see anything loose Dante |

Still got the amp and cabs. Might sell it all but it would take a sweet offer. Pulled it all out yesterday to fool around. Still love it so it'll be tough but I'm trying to move away from so much gear.

Hey Harley, I agree, I saw Hipshot were doing the staggered post tuners, good idea, although I like to have at least 3 turns around the post, which partly comes from my early days when I needed to repair broken strings coz I couldn't afford to buy new ones. But also because it helps with string break. And then, not all string trees are equal either.

Thanks Harley, that's good to know. I thought it would be the same as the MP-2.
Hey Bret, glad you have a couple of (very nice) alternatives. Not sure how/if you can disable it. Let us know if you work it out, better still fix it. I'll PM Gregg to maybe have a look into it if he has time. |

Nice setup there Shibiwan, Thanks! I've been cleaning up and restoring my old guitars. The Charvel has been with me since 1989 (my 2nd guitar ever). The flame maple top is spectacular. |
