Hi everyone,

I purchased a ADA MP 1, two weeks ago.
Costed me 10 packages of Ernie Balls  (ok, and a 1 hour drive).

Man, it's nice!
I'm hooking it up with a Mesa 50/50, and my cab is a complete brutal Randall 4 x 12 Warhead.
Guitar has EMG's and the goal is oldschool Metallica tone (in the ballaprk, not out to nail the exact tone).

I swapped the tubes for 2 JJ high gain tubes....... and swapped 'em back.
Dunno what the orginal ones were, but they sound better.

Im now considering the 3TM.

Cheers from Holland!

Hi jgd,

    Welcome to the Forum

Maybe in the MP-1 thread, you might elaborate a little bit on why you switched back from the JJ tubes.

I only have two brain cells left, ...and I'm saving them for the weekend!

Dank u  :)
Thanks guys!

PS: do I really have to get true all 3 of the verification steps EVERY post........?

hey jgd, welcome to the depot  I think you have to do 5 posts (or Personal Messages (PMs)) then the additional verifications stop. So after you put a couple of posts in the MP1 area re the tubes swap (or even in the All things Tube section), you'll be past it (you have 2 posts in this thread so 3 to go).  Can you take some close up pics of the tubes in it that you like, see if we can sus out what they are. There will be some interest in that for sure.
Great score on the MP1  :thumb-up: best use of Ernie ball strings I've heard of LoL, they weren't the greatest string years ago when I tried them although I'm sure they've improved since then ?
