Title: 110v -> 220v
Post by: Sirion on January 05, 2017, 07:02:45 AM
This is probably a simple question but here goes: I have a 110v unit that a previous owner has converted to a 220v unit by adding a huge external transformer, effectively forcing one the keep it in one particular rack (or begin drilling holes in a new one). It is also rather noisy, which I think comes from this. (I have another unit that is far quieter.) Is is possible to get a replacement for the internal 110v transformer, so that I can convert it to a 220v unit without all the ridiculousness? I was a part of the scene here years ago, and I think there was a guy in Belgium selling these, but I haven't been able to find any more info on it… (was it the Jurrie Teeuwen mentioned in the logo?)

After looking around a bit more I came across this page, which was what I was thinking of above:

http://www.marshalljmpmodshop.net/miscellaneous_parts_and_replacement_tubes.htm (http://www.marshalljmpmodshop.net/miscellaneous_parts_and_replacement_tubes.htm)

Dunno whether it still works, but there is no harm in asking.
