Time format Issue. You probably/may have noticed the time and date display in posts has defaulted to "Time Format" except for new posts. Dante and I are working on it.  However :thumb-up: I've discovered a workaround for now that will fix it but for you only..
Edit your member profile Look and Layout.  In the time format box/field enter %a %d%b %Y %I:%M %p (or click the ? button next to it and make your own combo, or select a format from the drop down list) then select change profile. You'll need to refresh to see the change BTW.

Thanks for troubleshooting this, Richard!

I was able to get mine to work the way you described. :thumb-up:

Now, to find out how to fix the default values for everyone

rnolan

I tried changing the defaults, and saving/changing back, that didn't work  .  I think there's a disconnect (config) to the file that stores the setting(s) (Theme ?) (which I edited twice and saved each time) and what's needing to retrieve it (it's looking elsewhere it seems ?)

Aha! so, just what did you change in the configs? PHP.NET, unless modified, should do this automatically - but to be fair, I do not have a running forum in front of me to check out, so..

Did you upgrade the SMF software?  Did you upgrade something on the Linux OS, or rather, did the hosting provider?

rnolan

Mmm or is it deeper than that LoL. My suspicion (from a long while ago  ) is that it happened after Dante moved the forum within his "hosted" directory structure (I suspect in here lies the problem  :dunno: ).  The SMF version is the latest available, the OS  :dunno: .

Well, I'd love to go poking around - the forum kindof used to be my back yard.. :'(
My apartment exodus is somewhat taxing to the mind, else I could simply do it through Remote Viewing 8)

Dante

Yeah, I probably made some mistakes when I installed this SMF forum. I am just dangerous enough to make it work, but I have no idea how to rectify the issue.

rnolan

Hey Dante, hey at least it works  :thumb-up: .  We'll get it sorted at some point, for now at least we have a workaround.

I've noticed that with today's (Tue, August 13) replies there's a date of the post, or rather a signature: "Today at XX:XX". Does that mean the pesky Time Format issue has been rectified?
