Hello yall, good to see this place up and running again. Yall may remember me from the old forum, I poked around there a bit.
I disappeared for a while and came looking a couple years ago when my MP-1 freaked out and discovered the site was dead. I'm really glad it's back, great to see yall again.
And I see this place still has the coolest smileys/emoticons/whatever around.
Hey tabasco
Great to see you back ! :whoohoo!:

So did I, and it took me a while to get them all! :banana-dance:
Welcome back!
Thanks. Looking around here makes me want to dig the rack back out. I've been using a Carvin V3 and pedals for a few years now.
ADA MP1/2 rack mmmm, there's nothing as good that I've heard :thumb-up:
I want to look into a better power amp. I have a Microtube 100 and the rig overall sounds good but lacks balls. I need to plug it into the power amp side of my V3 and see how it fares.
I used to use a B200s, great amp, now using a Carvin TS100, great amp, but like all "all" tube amps it has some weight, sh*tloads of tube grunt though
I've eyeballed the TS100 online and wondered about it. Does it give some grit and weight (tone wise)? The thing with the Microtube, it sounds good but very clean. Not much in the way of heaviness or thickness. Nothing like my V3 that rattles the frickin walls and has a really thick tone.
Hey tabascojunkie, I'm not looking for tone/colour in my poweramp, I want it transparent (like a PA amp) and generate the tones in my MP2.
But the TS100 is a kick arse amp, heaps of good tube grunt, so yes adds weight, no grit (but amplifies it well), that's in the preamp. And it will rattle your walls >:D
Nice. I plugged mine into the power amp side of my V3 earlier and it sounds pretty good. Definitely has the balls it lacks with the Microtube.
I had a Microtube briefly, it was a US model so I had to run it with a step down transformer. It never impressed me, I think I turned it on twice, then swapped it for a B200s with Dante, I think he got a better run with it. I got the B200s for a mates MP2 rig I built for him, we put an Australian friendly toroidal transformer in it and it's doing well (thanks Dante :thumb-up: ).
