Title: New ADA MP-1 Owner

My Name is Derek.I am a big fan of Racer X,Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai....and although ADA MP-1's are 25 years old...Technology has not come close to the edge i get out of my new MP-1. I am now considering a 3TM,but i know almost nothing about what it entails or costs. It is a pleasure to have a site such as this to obsess my favorite new toy! Thanks for everything!!

I'm a big Paul Gilbert fan too - especially his work with Cygnus & the Sea Monsters. Respect.

Hey Derek, welcome to the depot :thumb-up: I like the Mr Big/Paul Gilbert, every song on Lean into it kicks arse..
I agree, there has been nothing that I've come across that is equal to or better than the ADA MP1/2.
Check out (http://www.marshalljmpmodshop.net/index.htm) for 3TM stuff.  There's lots of ADAers here who are 3TM users and quite a few posts.  Fundamentally, the 3TM mod is about adding 2 more gain stages (1 extra tube (twin triode)). So if you need/want  >:D that amount of distortion/gain, 3TM is a good idea.  :whoohoo!:
