New Driver Break In?
« on: Time Format »

Curious to see what you think about new speaker "break in".   Specifically about acquiring brand new drivers to install in your existing cab, NOT about getting a brand new cab with speakers already in it.

Drivers can be used right away without any issues; however, they all need some playing time for the suspension to reach it's designed-for compliance, or giving-in'ness.
Many drivers, until played-in, can sound a bit tight or compressed; same thing for hifi/guitar/bass drivers, woofers and trebles alike.

If wanted, just massage them using ordinary program material, or using a noise generator - an am radio between stations will do just fine ;)
Or just start banging dem strings :headbanger:
