They started an aggressive email campaign to attempt to sell anything: guitars, online lessons, pedals, pots, dishes, mattresses...

I think it's sad to see these old brands, which pretty much laid the foundation, end up with such huge quality problems creating the loads of comments online as seen in resent years.

As for the Gibson company as an entity, I cannot feel too sad for them, given how they've been more active in buying up other bizzes in order to score patents, which the haven't even turned into new good technology and products, but mostly have been sitting on.
