Hello from down under
« on: Time Format »

Name's Six (yes, real name) and my first ever tube amp (that actually worked, long story) was a rack rig with an MP1 in it. Bought it when I was 18 for $250 at a pawn store with the MP1 and a Marshall 9005 power amp that weighed a tonne. 10 years later and I may not have the awful carpet covered rack or back breaking 9005, but the MP1 still lives in a rack at home. For years I used it with a Triaxis and a Simul 2:90 in a rack controlled with a G System to switch between the pres and control everything. I held onto it forever because I am a HUGE Type O Negative fan and could nail Kennys tone from the first 3 albums because he used the MP1 for those records.

These days however it lives in the rack on my production desk above my Torpedo VB101 ready to be patched in and belt out some recordings. Soon it will be joined by an MP2 I bought today once I get it in working order.

Hey Six, did you have that photography web page (coming soon ?), welcome to the depot  . I started with an MP1 and they are great, but I'm an avid MP2 user these days. I'm in Canberra so not that far away, and all happy to help here  :thumb-up: .
Cheers Richard

Yup, I'm a photographer, and yes I'm ashamed I still haven't updated my website. There's just a placeholder page there because I've been meaning to do a portfolio refresh for the last 12 months but haven't gotten round to it.

Canberra huh? I've been meaning to take a trip down there to check out the last of DW's Caparisons and see if I can get a stupid deal on another one. ;)

She's been there for years, gets to play with large format Sinars and all that groovy stuff. Consequently I learnt a bit about photography over the years LOL.

You'd think so, but nope; oldest out of 5. Had my name legally changed years ago. No one could pronounce my birth name so I figured I'd change it to the name everyone knew me by.
