Title: Unable to verify referring url when loging on
Post by: rnolan on August 06, 2017, 03:37:35 AM
Since the last SMF upgrade (the program that powers the depot) some of us (though not all) get the following message when login on:
http://adadepot.com/index.php?action=login2
Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again.

And then you have to log on again.

Kim came up with a work around, if this happens to you consistently (as it does for me): before you log on, click any of the boards (eg Discussions) then log on.  I find this works and saves me having to log on twice.

Since not everybody has this issue, it may depend on the browser you use, I use Firefox with the "No Script" add in and I get the issue consistently.

Last I tried to log in I had to do a few tries to get it in.

I have no problems logging in using Firefox; I'm not using the no-script thing.
However, Firefox does warn about the login being unsafe, as it isn't encrypted.

Anyways, since a version or two back, Firefox doesn't permit running plugins as it used to, perhaps this could be related to the login issue.. :dunno:

I had to login twice a couple of times, but it's sporadic. Could be because I'm already on one of the boards when I login - that would explain it.
