ADA combo amp
« on: Time Format »

Would you buy one if you had the opportunity?  Of course price is everything, right.  I'm kinda on the fence as I don't need it but would love to try it.

Yes, I'd love to have all of them LoL (well just one of each). Though my first preference would probably be the stereo one with basically an MP-2 and poweramp built in (whichever that one is)... Though the Viper looked very cool and has the "pocket" on the back for a 1RU FX unit, seems a very well thought out combo.

If it's a quadtube and you don't buy it, let us know about it. I wouldn't mind grabbing up one of those.

Yes, with the 10" speaker, in a tolex covered case, with rounded corners

Hey Harley, is it another model you mean ? :dunno:
According to the old depot site (http://web.archive.org/web/20040216175708/http://www.adadepot.com:80/adagear/subgear/combos.htm) there were 7 combos:
Rocket A10 (no technical data available)
Rocket A20 (no tech data)
Viper, 70w 1 x 12"
Cobra, 120w 2 x 10"
Sidewinder, 70w mono 1 x 12"
Tritube, mono 1 x 12" 75w
Quadtube, 2 x 75w stereo, 2 x 12"

Hey Richard,
Yes, it's another model. I saw one for sale on ebay a little over a month ago, and I believe it was the Rocket A10. It didn't look anything like the other combos.

There was an A10 for sale on CL in North Jersey about a month or so ago. I didn't pull the trigger on it. It was about a 2 & 1/2 hour drive from my house and he wouldn't meet me halfway, etc.

  • If it's too Loud...you're gonna get more of THAT.

Having only ever owned a Viper and a QuadTube from the list of ADA combo amps, I can say that if you find one of those 2 for a good price....GET IT!

The Viper has the "old school" style with actual knobs for controls, and no midi functions, one 12" speaker and mono.
The QuadTube controls work like the MP-2, has the full midi compliments, 2 12" speakers and stereo.  I have a write up about it here:

There's still that one on Reverb located in Wappingers NY.  Not sure how close that is to you, but he won't ship it...which is why it's still for sale, I'm sure.
