MP2 sound drop out
« on: Time Format »

My Mp2 sound keeps cutting out, kinda like a stutter.
No power loss only sound. Full volume one second and the next nothing, then back in. Its constant and doesn't matter if any effects or noise gate is on or off. Any ideas?

Have you completely eliminated the guitar and the input cable from being the problem?
I had this problem earlier this year but it was actually the instrument cable that went to  :poop:

Try wiggling every frickin cord in or out of it. I had a bad output jack that simply needed to be remelted. I tried three cords before I figgered out it was the jack

The front input jack features a switch for disabling the rear jack input; the switch could be corroded.
Try both front and rear jacks to see if the problem is constant.

The push-push mini switches on the rear, for setting inst/line levels, and the speaker emu switch, are known to become corroded with time; try pushing them in/out a good number of time. Contact cleaner can sometime cure them, else replace.

Also, the noise gate is known to develop some chatter. There's a fix (noise mod) for it.

Thanks for the help guys, I knew we would figure it out!
Van is the winner! It is something with the rear input jack. If I use the front jack there is no problem. Easy fix, for now I will just run into the front. :headbanger:

Oh yeah one more thing: running into the front I do not need my gate in my g major 2 the MP2 gate is all I need. :whoohoo!:
